Weekend Recap

We finally had a weekend without too much planned. I spent Saturday cleaning upstairs and trying to get things put away so we will be ready for Christmas. We gave away/threw away/sent to the consignment shop bags of toys. It feels so good to have it gone. Sadly we got rid of N and L's old carseats that they do not use any more. N's carseat used to be W's and L's carseat used to be C's. So these carseats got plenty of use! I remeber picking out C's carseat before she was born. Pink is the only way to describe it! After two boys, everything C had as a baby was pink, pink, and more pink. We (meaning me) has been a lot more moderate about all the pinkness with L (although she still has ALOT of pink things).

On Sunday I went to M's baby shower. She and her hubby live in the cutest house that was built in the 1920s. It has the old fashioned baseboards and the most beatiful fireplace. If I could have taken the claw foot bathtub out the back door and put it in my car without anyone noticing I might have tried! M is having her first baby, a girl, and she received so many cute gifts. Alot of her gifts were handmade and so special. While I was at the shower, I got the surprise of my life. A told me she is 11 weeks pregnant! When she and I last spoke a few months ago, she had just started dating N, so this came as quite a surprise! She seems so happy and at a really good place in her life. I am very happy for her and I think she will be a wonderful mother. In the next year, our group of friends has a few babies due. What an exciting time! I am very happy that the other girls have started their families so that we will all have children in the same age range ( although my boys will be somewhat older than theirs, L and C will still be pretty close, especially L). Seems like there is change in the air!
